Rhytids, or “wrinkles,” are caused by muscle movements from smiling, frowning, laughing. . .and sun exposure. We offer a variety of treatments for wrinkles, including creams, Botox, fillers, and lasers.
Years of sun exposure can cause changes in the skin, both benign (wrinkles, brown spots, redness, increased small blood vessels) and skin cancers/pre-cancers (changing or new moles, dark spots, pink crusty or shiny spots). As dermatologists, we will examine your skin carefully and discuss treatment options.
Not all acne is created the same. At GJD, we have expertise in treatment and prevention of all forms of acne, from “blackheads” to cystic acne. We work with our patients of all ages to develop specialized treatment plans. A full range of therapies is available to our patients.
Acne rosacea, sometimes termed “adult acne”, is a common and frustrating chronic condition with many treatment options. We use both topical and oral medications to address the inflammation and pimples of this condition. Intense Pulsed Light therapy is very useful in reducing the redness associated with Rosacea.
Rashes can occur from drugs, viruses, dryness, or have more complex etiologies. A thorough evaluation is important for correct treatment.
Atopic dermatitis, also called eczema, is a skin disorder that often appears in babies or very young children, and may last until adolescence or adulthood. Adults can also develop eczema. People who are atopic commonly have a triad of eczema, allergies, and asthma and it tends to run in families. Eczema causes the skin to itch, turn red, and flake. Different triggers can make eczema worse. Excessive rubbing and scratching can damage the skin and lead to infection. There is no cure for eczema, but we can help you manage it through careful education about moisturizers, triggers, signs of infection, and use of topical or other medications.

Moles may be benign (non-cancerous), dysplastic (atypical), or cancerous (melanoma). We can safely remove your mole for further examination and evaluation under the microscope. We also perform careful skin examinations to determine if a mole should or should not be removed.
Warts are benign growths caused by a virus. They can occur anywhere on the body. There are several treatment options for warts, which we will discuss during your visit.

We are able to specialize the patch testing based on individual hobbies, occupations and practices. In so doing, we offer the patients the opportunity to discover and avoid those items causing their rash. Common allergens include: nickel/metals, fragrances, preservatives, rubber products, hair dyes, plants, skin care products.
Hair loss can be ‘normal’ or can signal an underlying medical condition. It is commonly seen in both men and women, and may be stressful and upsetting. During your visit, we will obtain a detailed history and order appropriate tests.
